britney spears, paris hilton and john mccain!

When a man realizes his defeat is near, a primal urge sparks his brain and he refuses to return to his darkened corner without a fight.

Case in point: John McCain. Mr. McCain's latest political advertisement, which was posted earlier today on his official YouTube space, opens with flashes of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. McCain attempts, however futile, to attach the aforementioned "celebrities" to the popularity, or celebrity-like status, of the next President of the United States of America, Mr. Barack Obama.

McCain has flipped on the Iraq timetable issue (read the story HERE) and now he has produced a "hip" ad featuring two "glamorous celebrities." (Tongue firmly planted in cheek.)

Mr. McCain, you are a sad and desperate man -- and your darkened corner awaits you.

"Barack Obama says no to offshore drilling."

Why does Mr. Obama oppose drilling for more oil? According to the American Petroleum Institute, there are only about 19 million barrels to be extracted from our coasts. At our current usage rates, which are likely to rise, that would supply about two and a half years of gas. Additionally, the institute estimates that this supply wouldn't come online for at least a decade.

We must break our addiction to oil, and drilling our way out of this addiction is not the answer. In lieu of spending billions of dollars to drill for a short-term solution, this money could be spent on developing alternative fuels. Renewable energy. Cleaner energy.

Oil is a finite resource, and once we discover the fields are nearly dry, it will be too late for an alternative solution.

We must act now.

Please vote for Mr. Barack Obama in 96 days.
